Job Description
Description Summary Plans and erects Acoustical Ceilings and Soffits in commercial and industrial buildings by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes but is not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Rolls out power cords and checks out tools and equipment needed for daily tasks
- Inventories materials, tools and equipment at the beginning and end of shift
- Able to read blueprints
- Ability to layout any ceiling or soffit on the job
- Able to set up and use spinning laser
- Provide layout and opening for any and all penetrations in ceiling system
- Measure, cut and install wall angle, wires, mains, tees, pop rivets, clips, seismic pods, seismic wire and cut clean tile
- Have some knowledge of code requirements
- Keep all ceilings flat and square
- May have to build trapeze supports for wire layout
- Set up and break down scaffolding
- Walk stilts (very helpful)
- Stock and clean up
- Must have knowledge of industrial standards

Education and/or Experience Must have own tools for chosen trade as per attached list; Must have knowledge and certification to use saws, screw guns, lasers, and powder actuated tools; Must have knowledge of setting up and breaking down scaffolding.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to humid conditions; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Safety glasses and ear plugs are required to be worn on the job site at all times.
