We are looking for Primary Instructors to train our students for careers in allied health positions just like yours. This is a part-time position, and you dont need to have teaching experience in order to qualify only your experience in medical assisting! We will provide you with complete training in our curriculum and standards to ensure that you will be fully prepared for your new teaching role. This is a part-time position, evening only, in 5 week sessions. **Job Summary**
Faculty members work under the direct supervision of the Associate Director and with support from the Regional Campus Director, Program Chair or in some cases, the Lead Faculty. In this role, you will instruct students the standardized Ross curriculum, review lesson plans and prepare for class instruction, grade and electronically record assignments, actively promote student retention, support externship activities as applicable, and perform related work as required.
**Requirements for Occupational Course Instructors**
* A minimum of an **Associates Degree** from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or an otherwise recognized training entity (e.g., hospital-based program) in the specialty field or subject area in which they teach.
* Three (3) or more years of occupational (i.e., practical) experience in the subject field in which they teach
* A current license, certification or other credential as required by local, state and/or federal laws to work in the field. In the State of Tennessee, the occupational experience must be a minimum of three (3) years of practical experience within the last seven (7) years in the subject area to be taught*

* Must have sufficient ability to move around the building and classroom to satisfy student needs and/or facilitate student participation
* Must have sufficient visual and auditory ability to operate computer equipment, use telephone, read materials, use white board and use classroom equipment
* Ability to communicate effectively in classroom and individual settings
* Knowledge of materials (subjects) that will be taught to students and ability to use and communicate Ross curriculum
* Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced work environment
* Ability to use current technology to maintain student records, e.g., Microsoft Office, CampusVue
* Ability to achieve or maintain credential and/or licensure within expected time frames
* Demonstrates professionalism in manner, dress and conduct as a representative of Ross and a student mentor
* Ability to remain objective and treat all students equally
* Attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Adhere to Ross Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics
Prior teaching or formal tutoring experience using a developed curriculum, preferred
**Job Duties and Responsibilities**
**Classroom Instruction**
* Delivers course work as it applies to the appropriate Ross curriculum
* Utilizes contemporary teaching strategies and practices; such as instructional resources through guest speakers, field trips, videos, PowerPoint presentations, Instructors Resources, lecture, and curriculum documents which enhance the learning process
* Accurately records students daily attendance
* Primary Instructors hold conferences with students on an as-needed basis
* Follows and enforces Student Guidelines
* Maintains classroom in good physical order, manages program supplies and equipment in good repair
* Enters classroom at designated time with all necessary materials. Begins and ends class at scheduled times and follows scheduled student break times
* Monitors class retention rates and actively participates to promote student retention in order to exceed accreditation standard of 80%
**Outside of Class Time**
* Review standard Ross curriculum and prepares for class instruction
* Corrects students assignments and tests; reviews results and returns graded coursework promptly
* Primary Instructors accurately record grades, successful completion of proficiencies and attendance by entering information in campus management software
* Cooperates with lab schedules, maintains weekly office hour(s) and completes curriculum training in advance of each Module instruction
* Completion of a minimum of one pre-approved professional development workshop, seminar or course related to the teaching discipline of the Instructor every fiscal year
* Attends two Ross Education LLC in-services every fiscal year
* Attends formal and informal faculty/staff meetings
* BLS instructor certification may be required
* Informs Associate Director or Regional Campus Director immediately of unsatisfactory academic student progress, discipline or attitude problems, and occurrences that warrant discussion
* Attends quarterly faculty meetings to discuss classroom concerns, student issues, retention and placement, curriculum development and assessment, survey results and other topics as appropriate
* Instructors may be required to participate in Campus Externship Seminars as directed by the Campus Director or Assistant Campus Director of Education
* Participates in school events regarding student retention and graduate placement
* Advises Associate Director of any equipment repair/replacement needs or supplies issues
