Uses art media, images, and the creative art process to assist patients with social, psychological and physical difficulties. Works with the interdisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive plan of care for the patient. Uses expertise to assist patients in a variety of areas, including developing coping skills, promoting alternate modes of expression, increasing socialization, enhancing sensorimotor coordination and problem solving skills, limiting problematic behaviors and improving compliance with treatment.Responsibilities:Provides group and individual art therapy sessions to patients on various units within the main campus hospital.Evaluates patient's treatment needs, abilities and resources.Maintains confidentiality of patients, staff, and hospital respecting patient's rights and pletes routine paperwork within prescribed time frames and accurately documents all pertinent and meaningful observations and information on appropriate forms.Attends and participates in designated plan of care team meetings concerning the patient and family, as appropriate.Adheres to general expectations for all employees in order that the program functions in an effective manner to meet the treatment needs of the patient.Other duties as assigned.Education: Master's Degree in Art Therapy from a College or University Program accredited by the American Art Therapy Association (AATA).Certifications: Art Therapist Registered (ATR) or eligibility for registration preferred.Work Experience: One year of experience in Art Therapy services in an inpatient hospital setting.Consideration will be made for time spent in practicum.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.Salaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
