Hours/Week: 40 (Full Time)
Scheduled Hours: 4:00 am – 2:30 pm Monday through Thursday, to include: a 30 minute unpaid Meal Break and three paid 15 minute Breaks for every four hours of work.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Purpose
Experienced Buffer with knowledge of how to provide high-level Paint Department support to company and team. Ensures that vehicles have a smooth and even appearance by performing finishing work on vehicles subsequent to coating application using a rotary mechanized buffing instrument, or by hand as necessary.
Essential Job Functions
· Inspect body panels for proper color match and acceptable finish texture; refer any quality issues to supervisor.
· Prepare surface for buffing utilizing sanding tools, materials and techniques.
· Utilizing rotary buffer, restore panel finish to required level of quality.
· Remove and clean all compound all compound or polish residue from buffed panels.
· Inspect refinished body panels for proper color match and acceptable finish texture; refer any quality issues to supervisor.

· Buff and prep the vehicles in the Paint, Body and Glass shop departments.
· Remove overspray from vehicle surfaces.
· Remove runs, sags and dirt without burning and dab fish eyes.
· Inspect completed work relative to finish quality and/or company standards.
· Follow all job related safety and health procedures.
· Ability to remain clean shaven at all times, due to OSHA and/or Respirator Protection standards.
· Retain confidential information on vehicles not released to the public.
· Regular and consistent attendance.
· Perform other job related duties as directed by supervisor.

Abilities
Requires repetitive movement, standing for six to eight hours per shift, lift parts weighing up to 70 pounds, face-to-face discussions with individuals or teams, contact with others (face-to-face, by telephone, or otherwise). Work Environment
Requires working indoors and occasionally outdoors, exposure to sounds and noise levels that may be distracting or uncomfortable when working indoors and may incur exposure to extreme heat weather conditions when working in the shop area. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Job duties are performed independently.
Qualifications
Experience and Education
2 - 5 years’ experience preferred. Automotive Body or Repair Shop experience preferred. Education and specialized knowledge. High School/G.E.D. Work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
Ability to pass a Pre-Employment, Random or Reasonable Suspicion Drug Screen(s).
