Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology Faculty - Open-Rank Hiring Department The University of Texas Permian Basin's Department of Psychology welcomes applications for an open rank tenure-track faculty position in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology. The successful candidate is expected hold the Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology and hold licensure as a Licensed Psychologist in Texas or be able to attain licensure in Texas within six months after appointment. Rank is open, and we offer a competitive salary, excellent fringe benefits, and relocation expenses. The anticipated start date is January or August 2025. Review will occur on a rolling basis.
Salary Range $95,000 - $130,000 depending on qualifications.
Essential Functions This position will include practicum supervision and graduate courses such as intellectual and personality assessment, and psychopathology. The faculty member will teach three courses in each of the spring and fall semesters (18 credits per academic year), and a willingness to teach online is desired. The candidate should demonstrate professional competence in clinical supervision and training. Responsibilities:
1. Teach courses based on departmental needs and expertise.
2. Conduct research related to one's expertise and apply for research grants as appropriate
3. Participate in curricular development.
4. Provide direct clinical supervision for trainees in the Clinical Psychology graduate program as an individual supervisor/practicum course instructor. Participate in departmental training, faculty meetings, and other departmental activities. Maintain regular contact with psychology department faculty to coordinate training needs.
5. Conduct regular program development and evaluation in supervision-related activities.
6. Provide support to students in need of academic improvement.
7. Provide service to the university, college, and department.
8. Actively participate in the department's expansion.
Required Qualifications 1. Psy.D. or Ph.D. in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology or a closely related field from an APA approved program
2. Able to satisfy one of the following:
a. Currently licensed as a psychologist in the State of Texas
b. Eligible for licensure in the State of Texas within six months after appointment
c. Must have taken and passed the EPPP exam prior to hire AND plan on earning their license in the State of Texas within 12 months after their appointment
Additional Information From the Department UT Permian Basin is one of nine academic institutions in The University of Texas System; there are an additional six health science institutions in the UT System. The University of Texas Permian Basin offers the BA online and face-to-face. Both are robust programs. We also offer the MA in Psychology with clinical and experimental concentrations. UT Permian Basin has recently received mental and behavioral health grants that can cover tuition for Clinical Psychology graduate students.

Schedule Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.
Standard Working Conditions 1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.
3. Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously.
4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.
6. Standard working conditions may differ depending on department and occupation.
