Job Overview: A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Partner to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, leasing, and development, focusing on providing exceptional client service and strategic legal advice. Job Duties: Represent property owners, developers, lenders, and investors in commercial real estate transactions. Handle complex commercial office and retail leasing agreements, development projects, and financing arrangements. Conduct due diligence reviews involving title, survey, entity, and other real estate matters. Advise on commercial lending and banking transactions, including real estate loans and secured credit facilities. Provide counsel on affordable housing, low-income housing tax credits, and historic tax credits where applicable. Address entitlement, zoning, and tax issues related to real estate and construction projects. Requirements: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the Illinois Bar or eligible to waive in or willing to sit for the upcoming Illinois Bar exam. Proven track record of managing and closing complex real estate transactions. Strong proficiency in drafting and negotiating contracts and legal documents. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Self-directed with a drive for excellence and problem-solving initiative. Preferred Skills: Experience in commercial lending, asset-based loans, or secured credit facilities. Familiarity with affordable housing, low-income housing tax credits, or historic tax credits. Knowledge of entitlement, zoning, and tax issues affecting real estate transactions.
