About Our Client This general contractor that has been around for over 30 years,
growing every single year , with 2023 being their best year yet. They are an established name in the Chicago land market and already have a strong pipeline of work ahead and need someone to keep track of the finances. They specialize in interior, health care, industrial and commercial construction. They are a mid-sized firm that prides themselves on quality product, and in turn they look for quality people.
Job Description - Project setup, budget entry and subcontract/purchase order issuance
- Create time and material tickets
- Review job billing status reports to ensure all projects are invoiced in a timely manner
- Perform project audits to find and correct system issues
- Furnish and issue change orders to clients, subcontractors and vendors
- Identify and communicate budget variances to project and accounting management
- Work with Staff Accountant(s) to ensure timely delivery of all invoicing documents
- Create monthly pay applications for submission to client
- Assist with ongoing change orders for jobs and updating Excel spreadsheets as the accounting record for auditing purposes
- Construct Payment Applications

The Successful Applicant - Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance or the equivalent professional experience is required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- At least 3 years in the construction industry
- Experience in health care, interior, commercial and or light industrial construction is a plus
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel as well as Sage and Vista by Viewpoint
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to accommodate additional responsibilities, as assigned
- Strong attention to detail
