You will play a pivotal role in maintaining accuracy and transparency in financial reporting, contribute to strategic decision-making, and ensuring proper valuation methods to exceed business objectives.Job SummaryAs a Corporate Controller Vice President in the Private Equity team in the Valuation Control Group (VCG), you will provide independent verification of the initial Front Office estimates of fair value and the framework for various adjustments to ensure that the Firm's final estimate of fair value comply with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). The group sets policy for reserves and pricing methodologies through interaction with Front Office and other stakeholders such as Model Risk Governance & Review, Market/Credit Risk, Product Control and Corporate Accounting Policy. As part of the VCG Private Equity team, you will be responsible for monitoring strategic and opportunistic positions in all private equity investment types, stages of business development, industry sectors, geographical locations, and during all market environments.Job Responsibilities:Assess the fair value of private equity investments in a variety of industries by analyzing the financial performance and evaluating comparable public companies and comparable Mergers and Acquisition transactionsExecute many ad-hoc research inquiries from senior management, across all products in the Private Equity inventoryMaintain a close relationship with Front Office, to ensure accuracy of analysis and availability of all transaction information. Summarize valuation methodologies and conclusions in investment review documents and reports. Required Qualifications, Preferences, and Skills2+ years of relevant experienceBachelor's degree and background in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other relevant areasHands-on private equity valuation experience at a consulting firm, public accounting firm, fund or a bankExperience with analyzing financial statements and reviewing legal documents (e.g. shareholder agreements, articles of incorporation, credit agreements etc.)Understanding Option Pricing Method models and other capital allocation methodologiesUnderstanding of current accounting and regulatory developments pertaining to valuation of financial instruments Keen eye for potential control deficiencies and desire/ability to rectify Attention to detail while also be able to communicate to senior stakeholders in succinct/clear fashionExcellent communication skills both verbally and in writing Ability to perform within a high pressure and time-sensitive environmentCapacity to understand complex concepts and effectively challenge peers in other groups across the organization Preferred Qualifications, Preferences, and SkillsKnowledge of Bloomberg and CAPIQ (is a plus otherwise will be required to learn)
