Position Title: Craig/Klawock Station Supervisor

Department: Flight Operations

Reporting To: Station Manager

Reporting to You: All Craig/Klawock Employees

Role Summary:

The Craig/Klawock Station Supervisor is responsible to ensure proper transference of freight and cargo to and from aircraft to the Craig office and delivered to the outlying area; assisting with the loading and unloading of aircraft; and would be responsible for freight and cargo tracking management. The position would be the lead customer service representative for Taquan Air at the Craig/Klawock base providing employee and personnel management, budget reporting, and community relations. They would ensure freight and customer service equipment are maintained and in good working order and address customer issues and concerns. The position requires consistent communication and coordination with the Ketchikan headquarters, providing weekly reporting of activities, at a minimum.

 

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Include, not limited to:

  • Motivate, lead, communicate and further develop a high-performance team through the promotion and application of Vision, Mission, and Values to staff, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for training, hiring, and managing personnel.
  • Manages and maintains the Take flite system and other flight/freight software.
  • Assists in launching, loading, and unloading aircraft.
  • Coordinates the receipt, delivery, and tracking of all mail and freight.
  • Assumes a leadership role in all company safety initiatives regarding freight and flight operations.
  • Ability to identify and properly handle hazardous material.
  • Assures aircraft are secure when docked.
  • Ensures facilities, grounds and freight vehicles are safe, clean, and maintained in an orderly fashion.
  • Responsible for communicating any maintenance needs to the Director of Facilities and Grounds.
  • Lead customer service representatives for Taquan Air in Craig
  • Ability to address concerns in a manner that may provide positive outcomes to our Taquan Air customers
  • Maintains daily communication with Ketchikan office and flight following department.
  • Report all hazards or safety concerns as soon as possible
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely with diverse populations.
  • Ability to be a self-starter who prioritizes a high volume of tasks and works well under pressure and time constraints, meeting deadlines and expectations.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing job requirements in a fast paced and evolving industry.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborate across work segments with diverse personalities and departmental requirements.
  • Ability to have reliable attendance and be flexible in working an evening or weekend day when workloads are excessive and recognize opportunities to contribute to other areas when individual workloads are light.
  • Skilled in problem solving and analytics.
  • Ability to identify solutions, execute standard processes and explain policy and procedures.
  • Proficient with computer technology and Microsoft Office 365.

 

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • No criminal convictions.
  • Minimum 21 years old.

 

Physical Abilities Required:

  • Able to lift and move a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Work in inclement weather.
  • Clean, neat and professional appearance.
