Velan Studios is seeking a Data Analyst to join our studio. This is a temporary position that will span approximately 6 months. As a Data Analyst at Velan Studios, you will have the opportunity to utilize your analytical skills to gather and interpret data, providing valuable insights that drive the development of unique gaming experiences. This position is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the video game industry for a current student or recent graduate of a 2 year or 4 year degree program, as well as graduates of non-traditional programs that focus on computer science and/or data analysis.
Responsibilities
Perform in-depth analysis of game data to identify player behavior patterns, game mechanics effectiveness, and potential areas of improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and test the telemetry we use to build our datasets.
Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to provide actionable insights and support decision-making processes.
Identify and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure, track, and report on game performance and overall business goals.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analysis and gaming analytics.
Play our games! We take this one seriously. It is hard to analyze a game without the context that comes from playing it.
Requirements
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets and relational databases.
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
Knowledge of AWS Athena is a bonus.
Solid understanding of statistical concepts and experience applying statistical analysis methods.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
The salary for this position is typically within the range specified below* per year. Please note that the actual base pay may vary based on factors such as your qualifications, skills, experience, and other relevant considerations.
*$63,000. - $84,000. annually
