Physical Requirements:

Must be able to spend a great deal of the day walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies. It is reasonable to anticipate lifting 20-25 pounds in any given day.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated ASCP-certified Histotechnician or Histotechnologist to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a small, fast-paced laboratory, where you will perform a variety of essential histotechnological tasks related to the preparation and analysis of dermatopathology specimens.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a combination of histotechnological tasks, including grossing, embedding, microtomy, staining, immunohistochemistry, Mohs surgery techniques and, transcription.
• Adapt to varying histotechnological tasks and prioritize workflow efficiently throughout the day.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to support the diagnostic needs of our dermatology clinics.
• Ensure high standards of quality and accuracy in all laboratory procedures and histotechnological tasks.
• Maintain the diagnostic viability of all specimens.
• Ensure accurate patient labeling and routinely verify that surgical case numbers match corresponding blocks and slides.
• Prepare special stains and solutions as needed.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with CAP regulations, CLIA regulations and, quality control standards.
• Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA, and CAP regulations.

Qualifications:

• ASCP certification as a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist is required.
• Previous experience in a histopathology or dermatopathology laboratory is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality results.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Flexibility to perform multiple tasks throughout the day.
• Highly motivated and able to work independently.
• All laboratory personnel are required to maintain schedule flexibility.

Opportunities for Growth:
