Wage Range: DOE-DOQ OPEN UNTIL FILLED: 1ST CLOSING DATE APRIL 26,2024 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Ensure internal/external customer satisfaction through prompt, efficient, and friendly service while promoting standards through courteous and respectful behavior.
- Oversees all Finance departments, including Accounting, Cage, and Soft Count. Work with finance department managers ensuring that deadlines and department goals are met. Assist finance departments with their budget preparation and budget monitoring.
- Oversees the Warehouse department, which includes purchasing, contract management, property-wide insurance, and inventory and asset management. Assists the Warehouse department with budget preparation and budget monitoring.
- Oversee development, adoption, and implementation of the annual operating budget and fiscal operations of all WRC properties and entities. Chair the Finance Committee which meets regularly to review department budgets and offer direction to departments as needed.
- Oversee preparation and distribution of accurate and timely financial statements, statistical reports, and accounting summaries for management, the Tribe, government regulatory agencies, and banking partners.
- Directs the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to shareholders, tax returns, and reports for government regulatory agencies. Much involvement in regulatory compliance.
- Oversee the posting, balancing, and reconciliation of the general ledger, ensuring that all transactions comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
- Review reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against final totals, capital improvements, and new projects, and suggest methods of improving the planning process as appropriate. Strategic planning is required for financial projections annually, and in yearly (3, 5, etc.) developed plans.
- Provide accurate and legible reports to the CEO as directed.
- Analyze company operations to pinpoint opportunities and areas that need to be reorganized, downsized, or eliminated.
- Collaborate with an executive team to establish more effective processes and controls to ensure the integrity of a company's ledger.
- Ensure policies, procedures, and practices comply with internal controls, gaming regulations, and professional accounting standards while maintaining compliance with all Tribal, State, and Federal codes and regulations. Stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of accounting.
- Analyze and interpret financial data and recommend changes to improve systems and financial
- Creates strong communication and effective bonds with all levels of employees to provide finance expertise. Must be able to effectively communicate with executive team members, department Directors/Managers, Supervisors, employees, BOT, CTUIR community, and the public.
- Exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, training and development, performance evaluations, counseling, job assignments, work schedules, and leave.
- Responsible for financial and regulatory audits, with both internal and external auditors.
- Attend and participate in management meetings.
- Works directly with banks, merchant service providers, and cash service providers for resort financial needs, including treasury management services, investments, lending needs, and cash access on the gaming floor.
- Promote a clean, safe, and healthy work environment for employees and guests. Promptly report all concerns to the Supervisor.
- Participation and development of a tribal member workforce.
- Other related duties as assigned by the Director of finance.

SIGNATORY ABILITY: - Purchasing approval for Finance, Cage, Soft Count, and Warehouse
- Official correspondence.
- Personnel/payroll forms, i.e., counseling, daily time and attendance, and performance appraisals.
ACCESS TO SENSITIVE AREAS: - Cage areas during performance of duties.
- Gaming areas.
- Finance-controlled storage areas.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, MBA preferred.
- Eight (8) years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality/resort industry.
- Ten (10) years of supervisory and management level experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing the financial aspects of a for-profit organization.
- Personal computer and financial accounting systems experience required.
- Strong financial reporting practices, financial statement preparation process, and experience certifying that the financial statements have been accurately prepared.
- Excellent knowledge of GAAP and prior experience in audit compliance.
- Solid analytical and communication Take a hands-on approach to accounting systems.
- Strong communication skills required: To effectively communicate in writing including preparing legible professional correspondence, reports, legal statements, etc.; effectively communicate with others and possess effective interpersonal skills and abilities to interact well with others.
- Considerable knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations, with a demonstrated ability to apply financial reasoning to solve business problems.
- Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Sit for long periods at a workstation; computer and 10-key work requires repetitive motion of wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Requires a Primary Management Official gaming license clearance.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- Experience in gaming/casino or other regulated accounting field.
