GENERAL CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT
The General Superintendent plays a significant role in all phases of project planning and execution of our projects. The General Superintendent will be responsible for managing all aspects of project field operations, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, safety, and quality standards. A true leader of teams that will drive the success of our projects and contribute to our reputation as a trusted General Contractor.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or GED required
20+ years of construction-related experience as a supervisor
Strong verbal and written communication and leadership skills
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, innovative and forward thinking
Demonstrated experience initiating and driving continuous improvement in teams.
Current OSHA 30 certification
Preferred:
Bachelors degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
20+ years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of overseeing large-scale construction projects.
Office and Travel:
Must be willing to travel regularly
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Provide leadership and mentorship to construction teams, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Manage all Pre-Construction related tasks including building crisis management plan, site logistics plan, site specific rules and regulations, and safety plan.
Manage and oversee all McGough field staff, subcontractors and suppliers engaged in assigned projects. This includes oversight of superintendents conducting daily huddles, job site coordination and delivery of materials.
Manage and implement the project schedule as designed and adjust as necessary. Work closely with Project Management team to ensure schedule is tracking and updated.
Work with Project Management team as needed throughout project including selecting subcontractors, developing, and tracking procurement of materials, tools and equipment.
Work with Quality Control team to ensure project-specific requirements are in place and being implemented as necessary.
Ensure alignment of budget set for the project including labor, materials, and equipment. Work with Project Management team to address issues as they arise.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to address technical challenges and ensure project specifications are met.
Work closely with Project Management team to ensure all project closeout tasks are completed. This includes punch list execution, commissioning, final inspections, owner training, etc.
Provide intentional leadership for project team in the areas of Lean methodologies being employed onsite, standard work and Pull-Plan sessions.
Ensure all OSHA and other required rules and regulations are met.
Build and maintain strong relationship with clients, design team and subcontractors.
Support and follow standard work.
Foster strong partnerships with fellow McGough employees.
