Discover Impactful Work: The Global Communications internship position provides an opportunity for students who are currently pursuing a communications, journalism, English or marketing degree to get hands on experience working with communications professionals in a fast-paced corporate environment. The intern will contribute to writing, editing, video and other communications content projects for internal and external audiences. The paid position starts in May, working 40 hours per week through August.
A day in the Life: - Collaborating with partners to research, write and edit stories and other content that can be used for our internal or external channels
- Writing, editing and developing materials for various communications projects, including change communications, organizational announcements, executive messages, newsletters, videos, social media posts, podcasts, etc.
- Supporting communication leaders, business leaders and their teams to prepare materials for town halls and other employees events.
- Assisting with building out content on our corporate intranet (called "iConnect")
- Assisting with compiling regular measurement reports for communications programs
- Assisting with handling requests for change communications support.
- Assisting with mass email distribution tool (Poppulo)
- Supporting other Global Communications projects as needed
Keys to Success: Education - High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience - Journalism, public relations and/or corporate communications major
- Microsoft Office 365 experience, including SharePoint and Viva Engage
- Familiarity with AP Style
- Graphic design editing and PowerPoint skills a plus
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities - Excellent writing skills
- Self-starter, meticulous, proactive
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team
- Ability to analyze and quickly grasp complex technical subject matter and translate it into messages that are easily understood
- An interest in science
- Able to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
- Strong organizational and time management skills
