Job Description PURPOSE OF POSITION: Directs and administers the housekeeping program to maintain the hospital or institutional premises in a clean and safe environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Inspect the environment to determine if Infection Control and Safety standards are maintained.
Supervise employees engaged in such tasks as operating polishing machines and automatic scrubbers, snow removal of refuse/recycling materials, and cleaning the pits, roof, grounds, and greenery around the hospital.
Established standards, work methods, and schedules with due consideration to traffic, visiting hours, and work to be completed.
Assist in training personnel. Evaluate the effectiveness of the housekeeping program.
Is responsible for maintaining records; and preparing reports.
Promotes a positive and pleasant attitude conducive to the workplace, which enhances and furthers the Mission, Vision, and Value Statement.
Enhances personal and professional development.
Wears professional attire to the workplace as well as during off-site work, when conducting business on behalf of the Health and Hospital network
Exhibits flexibility within the Health and Hospital network, as it pertains to work assignment, work place, site designation and Tour of Duty.
Ensure that staff follows all approved policies and procedures.
Conduct timely performance evaluations and time keeping of staff, including age competency standards. Perform related duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications 1. Completion of the eighth grade plus two years of full-time, paid experience in the performance of housekeeping activities for a large organization such as a hospital, hotel, office or residential building, one year of which must have been in the supervision of subordinates engaged in a variety of such activities;

2. A satisfactory equivalent.However, all candidates must have one year of supervisory experience as described above.
