Job Description
Position summary : The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for the daily administrative
duties, assisting with recruitment and employee development efforts, employee database
management, payroll and benefits, unemployment preparation, and act as a liaison with other
departments. This role will work directly with the HR Liaisons, HR Training Coordinators,
Operations Administrator, President of Operations, and other departments.
General Purpose: To serve our community through volunteerism. To be an ambassador of our
"Living Brand" by building relationships with our customers. Maintain culture building and
development of the Family Express "living brand" by observing all aspects of the company's
human resources and the human resource department, consistent with the corporate vision and
mission. Provide assistance to human resources and its programs and policies.
Role Qualifications: Must have dependable transportation. Must be able to travel daily between
all Family Express locations when necessary.
Position Responsibilities: - Builds Relationships
- Serves as Product Brand Advocate and fosters company culture
- Adheres to company approved accounting procedures
- Promotes and is an advocate for "Safety"
- Promotes Company's mission statement
- Seeks, promotes, and implements "Best Practices"
- Provide administrative support in the pre and post hire process
- Organize, compile, update company personnel records and documentation
- Manage and update HR databases with different information such as new hires, terminations, sick leaves, engagements, vacation, and days off
- Prepare, manage, and store paperwork for HR policies and procedures
- Answer employees' questions and provide requested information
- Maintain schedule and coordinate calendar activities
- Answer telephone calls and provide needed information
- Help organize and manage new employee orientation, on-boarding, and training programs
- Maintains a strong understanding of system information changes and updates
- Works independently to support inventory and supply order control at each store location
- Provide backup to other Administrative Assistant roles in organizations
- All other duties as assigned

Nonessential Skills and Experience: - Associates Degree or higher
- Previous retail experience. Preferably convenience stores

Physical demands and work environment: - Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to
stand for prolong periods; work longer than eight (8) hour shifts, reach climb, balance,
stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear; smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or
move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision,
distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Work Environment: Must have flexibility to work all shifts, all days of the week, when
necessary. Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures for a minimum of 30 minute intervals.
Exposure to dirt, dust and cleaning solvents.
