Are you passionate about HCM and Workforce solutions? Do you have experience designing and architecting engaging experiences and scalable platforms that power workforces around the world? As an architect lead within Starbucks Technology you will build and enhance global IT solutions that define how Starbucks delivers award winning partner (employee) experiences. Lead Architects are accountable for the conversion of business need into architectures and designs that will become the blueprint for a single domain’s capability development. As a member of the architecture community, you will also participate in the development of technology solutions, design patterns, and best practices for all of Starbucks global IT operations.
We are looking for a proven HCM/WFM architect to guide the development of our next generation solutions that will be used by over 300,000 green apron partners every day. \n\n
Summary of Key Responsibilities
\n\n
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
\n· Work closely with a variety of technology teams to develop strategies, technology blueprints, logical designs, and perspectives for the partner workforce management domain- including core infrastructure, platform, solution, and digital experiences
\n· Create opportunities via collaboration with a variety of stakeholders to improve our partner tech ecosystem
\n· Advise cross-functional leaders in defining priorities, key initiatives, and organizational alignment to inform and support business decisions
\n· Work alongside other architects devising meaningful ways to improve experiences and efficiency through shared roadmaps, technologies, and partnerships
\n· Provide holistic technology thought leadership through active product and program engagement
\n· Assist in developing proposals for enterprise technology strategies based on environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value, and risk
\n· Lead in shaping technology solutions for programs that span multiple businesses in the enterprise

\n· Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and an interpersonal style that meets the needs of individual customers

Basic Qualifications
\n· 12 years of IT experience
\n· 10 years of Business process and System design
\n· 7 years functional and system modeling
\n· 5 years of engineering or architecture experience in the HCM/WFM space
\n· 5 years of architecture or enterprise level analytical experiences
\n· 7 years indirect people development
\n· 7 years running technology proof-of-concepts
\n· 3 years participating in departmental (or greater) strategic technology planning
\n· 5 years financial analysis & business planning
\n\n
Preferred Qualifications
\n· 7 years of professional industry experience with software development and platform management
\n· 5 years participating in departmental (or greater) strategic technology planning
\n· 3 years of hands-on experience in developing APIs, Microservices, or enterprise event-driven systems
\n\n
Architectural Thinking
\n• Deep understanding of E2E HCM solutions for retail or other related industries
\n• Proficiency in data analytics, leveraging data to drive insights and improve engagement.
\n• Prior experience in performing build vs. buy analysis and vendor evaluations.
\n• Familiarity with architecture and agile delivery frameworks
\n\n
Engineering Skills
\n• Interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
\n• Robust knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements
\n• Demonstrated experience implementing and managing high capacity, redundant, and mission critical environments
\n\n
Interpersonal Skills
\n• Build and maintains influential working relationships at all levels and across the enterprise
\n• Contributes to a positive team environment by actively promoting respectful work environment

\n*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
