The successful candidate will be a key player in our fast-paced, busy legal environment, providing comprehensive support to our legal department. This role will require a strong understanding of legal documentation, legal writing, legal case management, legal document review, legal support services, and legal ethics. Job Details

What You'll Do:

1. Draft, proofread, and edit various legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and correspondence.
2. Assist in managing all aspects of legal case management from discovery through trial preparation including organizing case files, maintaining case calendars, and tracking filing deadlines.
3. Conduct legal research and factual investigation to support case preparation.
4. Review, analyze, and summarize legal documents ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
5. Provide general administrative support to the legal team such as answering phones, managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and maintaining the department's filing system.
6. Liaise with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals in a professional and ethical manner.
7. Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
8. Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role within a legal setting.
2. Proficiency in legal documentation, legal writing, legal case management, legal document review, legal support services, and legal ethics.
3. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail.
5. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and legal research software.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
7. Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
8. A proactive and self-motivated approach to work with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. A paralegal certificate or equivalent legal qualification would be highly advantageous.
10. Knowledge of the legal industry and its regulations and laws.
