Job Summary:
The facility is a secure psychiatric center, operated by Mental Health that provides comprehensive forensic mental health services for the restoration of competency and the assessment and treatment of persons with dangerous mental illness. Recovery and hope are promoted through the efforts of the interdisciplinary treatment teams within a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment in which freedom from violence and coercion is a guiding principle.
We are looking for five Licensed Master Social Workers or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Positions will start as soon as possible and may continue for up to 2 years.
The Licensed Master Social Worker functions as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team providing a full range of Social Work services to patients receiving treatment on a ward in a Psychiatric Center. An LMSW2 is also expected to participate in committee groups and assist in developing programs for patients. Senior Social Workers are expected to provide training and supervision for entry level Social Work professional staff and student interns.
Licensed Master Social Worker duties included but not limited to:
- Completion of medical record documentation within required designated time-frames.
- Maintain the medical record documentation
- Participate in assigned meetings: Treatment plan meetings (including 730/330 rounds), Daily morning rounds, Therapeutic Community Meetings, Case Reviews, Incident debriefings in the absence of the Program Coordinator/Treatment team leader
- Coordinate the Advance Directives process (e.g., Health Care Proxy)
- Facilitate clinical groups during the day
- Provide individual therapy to assigned patients
- Secure and maintain the Record of Arrest and Prosecution information
- Secure collateral information from various sources
- Maintain ongoing contact with patient's family and significant others
- Assist families in finding support services and engage families in the treatment process
- Secure approval for children visitation, special visitation requests and notify necessary staff. Coordinate electronic visitation and family participation in treatment team meetings
- Participates in the facility's annual Family Day, quarterly Family Educational meetings, Annual CORE curriculum training and in-service programming
- Assist patients with case management tasks
- Senior Social Work staff train and supervise entry level Social Work staff and student interns
- Participates on various hospital committees
Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 430pm
Length of Contract: Up to 2 years.
