Job Details

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Permanent Construction Litigation Paralegal to join our team. This role is integral to our legal department and will require the successful candidate to handle a multitude of tasks simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in construction litigation or government contract, with a proven track record in handling large scale complex litigation. The role will require the candidate to be proficient in legal research, litigation support, discovery process, trial preparation, case investigation, scanning, cataloging, Electronic Stored Information (ESI) processing, and LAW PreDiscovery. Familiarity with iConect Xera is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and organize large volumes of complex documents; review, analyze, and compile discovery responses by opposing parties.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and case investigations to assist in the preparation of legal documents.
  • Manage all phases of the discovery process, including drafting subpoenas, coordinating document productions, and conducting interviews.
  • Assist in trial preparation by preparing case-specific materials such as witness binders, deposition outlines, and exhibits.
  • Handle ESI processing and cataloging, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Utilize litigation support software, specifically iConect Xera, for document management, case tracking, and presentation at hearings and trials.
  • Provide comprehensive litigation support through all stages of the legal process.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, staff, court personnel, and experts to assist in case preparation and strategy development.
  • Monitor case progress and maintain case files, databases, and indices.
  • Perform administrative duties such as scanning, copying, filing, and scheduling meetings.
Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Paralegal in construction litigation or government contract.
  • Bachelor's degree in Law or Paralegal Studies is preferred. Paralegal certification may be required.
  • Proficiency in legal research, case investigation, and litigation support.
  • Extensive experience in the discovery process, trial preparation, and large scale complex litigation.
  • Proficiency in ESI processing, scanning, cataloging, and LAW PreDiscovery.
  • Familiarity with iConect Xera is preferred.
  • Superior organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly analytical.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other legal software.
