WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Lead the team comprised of field engineers, programmers, and staging (pre-commissioning) technicians, including coaching, performance management, team development and individual development.
- Ensure maximum staff productivity through weekly team metrics, project reviews, and monitoring staff workload.
- Forecast work activity and redirect resources to meet project goals and schedule.
- Support Field Engineer workload, as needed.
- Ensure projects are pre-commissioned according to audiovisual best practices.
- Manage external commissioning resources, assuring they meet technical requirements.
- Attend a variety of internal meetings and customer meetings as required.
- Execute process improvement initiatives.
- Leverage commissioning experience to promote quality improvement to enhance the services provided to clients.
- Stay up to date with current technologies and industry software.
- Travel nationally, up to 40%. Availability for weekend work (historically low levels but potential travel days).
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:
- 5+ years of experience as a Field Engineer.
- 3+ years of experience in a management role.
- Audio Engineering Degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to establish rapport, gain the trust of others, influence others, and lead by example.
- Strong team orientation and ability to work well with others.
- Ability to assemble resources and lead a team effort in support of organizational objectives.
- Conflict resolution experience.
- Ability to lead completion of multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities.
- CTS required; CTS-I Certification preferred.
- Q-SYS Level 2 and Control 201 certifications required.
- Vast experience deploying and troubleshooting Crestron Flex System MTR and Zoom room kits.
- Proficiency and experience deploying Biamp, Tesira Forte DSP systems.
- Expert level understanding of audio and video signal flow.
- Ability to load Crestron code to processors, troubleshoot Crestron systems, and working knowledge of Toolbox.
- Expert level knowledge of networked audio, PTP management and Dante controller.
- Proven ability to commission commercial AV and train clients on system function.
- Expert level experience setting up video switching systems: Crestron and Extron.
- Vast knowledge on installation of products such as ceiling/wall mounted speakers, displays, cameras, cabling infrastructure, AV racks, wall plates, and interfaces (audio, video, control, and networking).
- Expert level knowledge of terminations, including but not limited to: audio, video, control, and network connectors.
- High proficiency in reading schematics and utilizing diagnostics, identifying design mistakes, and assisting with solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Responds well to questions; writes clearly and informatively.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record required.
- Physical ability to lift 50lbs, squat, kneel and climb ladders from 8-12 ft.
- Comfortability working in ceilings and tight spaces.
