Job Summary:
The Materials & Procurement Manager is critical of supporting our production operations with the required components and system improvements. You will be supported by dedicated professionals. Provide daily reports/updates that are used by the production departments to run work and plan staffing, materials etc. The goal will be to become part of the executive team and take on greater responsibilities over time.
Responsibilities:
▪ Purchased Component inventory management.
▪ Core inventory management
▪ Manage shipping and logistics for inbound freight of purchased components.
▪ Evaluate Supply Base for Strategic and Tactical approaches related to cost savings and component supply protections.
▪ Help support and negotiate vendor contracts when appropriate.
▪ Provide updates to manufacturing operations so materials and staffing are coordinated with the forecasted workloads and that sales/customer service are updated on customer projects.
▪ May verify that materials, staffing, and logistics are in place in time for scheduled production runs.
▪ May coordinate with vendors and/or internal resources producing components to ensure that delivery will meet the scheduled run time for the customer project.
▪ May attend conferences and trade shows to develop relationships and learn about industry trends.
▪ Effectively lead and manage complex projects.
1. Implement a WIP tracking system
2. Reduce Purchase Component Inventory dollar level to appropriate levels
o Implement vendor component project utilizing one base number
▪ Attend weekly meetings with internal departments and outside customers to evaluate progress and provide guidance on anticipated issues.
▪ Review contracts to determine ways to optimize costs and define areas of opportunity for more favorable terms.
▪ Experience in collaborating effectively with employees, managers and customers.
▪ Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
