Job Summary Are you an Early Childhood Educator who is committed to educational equity, and willing to engage in the challenging work it takes to bring positive, impactful change? Arapahoe Community College's Child Development Center is growing and building a team to move our program to a "Lab School Model." We are searching for innovative, passionate, thoughtful, energetic, honest, positive Mentor Teachers to join our team. This new role will support and guide our team of Early Childhood Educators, and other adult learners in our campus community to reflect on and refine their practices, use data to inform and improve best practices and instructional quality through modeling and mentoring. As a valued team member, our Mentor Teacher will work collaboratively with leadership, faculty, and colleagues to create and maintain a highly effective environment (model classroom), while teaching and delivering high-engagement instructional designs and embedded learning opportunities for each child.
Qualifications - Associate degree in early childhood education and 6+ years of experience working in early childhood education with experience as a trainer, mentor, coach, or administrator.
OR - Baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and 4+ years of experience working in early childhood education with experience as a trainer, mentor, coach, or administrator.
OR - Master's degree in early childhood education, or a related field and 2+ years of experience working in early childhood education with experience as a trainer, mentor, coach, or administrator.
- Demonstrates understanding of research, data, and child outcomes tracking and progress monitoring.
- Completion of, or the ability to complete, training or certification in Teaching Strategies GOLD, CLASS, the Pyramid Model, and Infant/Toddler/Early Childhood Environment Rating Scales (ITERS, ECERS), as designated by supervisor.
- Currently hold, or can obtain, a Colorado Coaching Credential and Reflective Supervision certificate
- Director qualified or able to obtain qualification within 120 days of employment.
- CPR and First Aid Certification

Physical Demands - Must be able to lift and carry a child weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally moves, positions, and transports classroom equipment weighing up to 30 lbs.
- This position requires the ability to frequently squat, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist and balance.
- Hearing and vision are required to supervise and ensure the safety of children by identifying potential dangers and recognizing signs of distress or discomfort.
- The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
