**$1,000 Hiring Bonus! GENERAL DESCRIPTION Educare of Omaha, Inc. is a collaborative partnership between the Early Head Start/Head Start, Omaha Public Schools and the Buffett Early Childhood Fund. Comprised of the two Educare Omaha Schools (Kellom and Indian Hill) and the three Early Learning Centers (Skinner, Gateway and Kennedy), the mission of Educare of Omaha, Inc. is to promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children ages 0 to 5 through the provision of evidence-based education, health, nutritional, social, family engagement and other services to enrolled children and their families.
The
Mentor Teacher Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, coaching, and leading of the education staff. He/She is also responsible for the coordination of referrals and services related to children with Special Needs or Mental Health concerns. The Mentor Teacher participates in the interdisciplinary planning and coordination of the comprehensive developmental program ensuring individual needs of children are met as well as the program standards of Educare of Omaha, Early Head Start/Head Start, Sixpence, and the Nebraska state licensing guidelines.
Schedule: This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week.

Supervises: Lead Teachers, Associate Teachers, and Teacher Assistants
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Program Implementation - Review education plans for children and provide regular constructive, individualized feedback to teachers.
- Engages in coaching and reflective practices with classroom teachers to ensure high quality program practices by observing in classrooms, engaging in collaborative problem-solving and planning, implementation of agreed upon strategies, and reflecting on progress made to determine next steps.
- Assist teachers in interpreting and analyzing assessment results to support teachers in using those results to plan individual and classroom experiences as well as in their conversations with families.
- Model developmentally appropriate early childhood instructional techniques and practices in the classroom including Positive Behavior Supports, Touchpoint Principles and Assumptions.
- Build supportive relationships with families and encourage their participation in the program.
- Oversee staffing to ensure classroom ratios are met, including covering classrooms as necessary.
- Collaborate with Family and Community Services Staff in identifying any barriers for children and families as it relates to participation in Early Childhood Educational services.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings (IDT meetings) for children and families staffing such as Individualized Family Service Plan/Individualized Education Plan meetings.
- Completes all assigned internal monitoring.
Supervisory - Provide regular reflective supervision and coaching (individual and group) to education staff.
- Complete introductory and annual employee evaluations of teachers, associate teachers, and teacher aides.
- Collaboratively implement a coaching and mentoring process with education staff to promote high quality instruction.
- Assist and coordinate oversight of student teachers, practicum students and volunteers.
- Coordinate lead, associate, and teacher aide meetings regularly.
- Provide guidance, support, and suggestions to the education staff to meet and exceed ITERS/ECERS, CLASS, Head Start, Nebraska Department of Education, NAEYC and program standards.
- Identify and coordinate with School Director professional development needs for staff and participate in the development of a training plan for staff development and assist with implementing training as needed.
- Support implementation of new strategies gained through training.
Administration - Prepare monthly reports.
- Participate in reflective coaching regularly with the School Director to receive guidance, report progress, plan new strategies, discuss problems, and receive information on program policies and procedures.
- Assist with educational staff interviewing and onboarding in collaboration with the School Director and Human Resource department.
- Provide orientation to new staff, volunteers and practicum students as needed.
- Coordinate and facilitate special program events in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor all activities in the education program, using required monitoring tools and reports.
- Coordinate referrals for children with special needs with the Omaha Public School District.
- Coordinate referrals for mental health services with the classroom consultant/Mental Health consultant.
- Collaborate with Educare's Speech/Language Pathologist to develop individualized services for identified children.
- Attend IFSP/IEP meetings; ensure that goals are incorporated in the individualized lesson plans for children.
- Engage with the School Director to report progress, plan new strategies, discuss concerns, and receive information on program policies and procedures.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS - Master's Degree in Education (Early Childhood preferred) required .
- Nebraska Teaching Certificate preferred.
- Experience in teaching children birth to 5.
- Two years supervision/administrative experience in early childhood setting preferred
- Must be able to pass a background check that meets compliance standards.
