Date: August 6, 2024 From: Office of Superintendent Subject: Vacancy Position: Middle School Math BSIP Pennsauken Public Schools is an urban/suburban Pre-K to 12th grade school district of approximately 5,000 students located in Camden County, New Jersey
Responsibilities: - Provides instruction to identified pupils in accordance with the district's entrance and exit requirements for the Basic Skills Intervention Program
- Works cooperative with the classroom teaching staff to coordinate instructional activities and to monitor the progress of each pupil and provides support instruction the regular classroom or resource time as assigned
- Establishes and mains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a classroom climate conducive to learning
- Maintains records of pulp's educational progress in class record books and/or board approved forms and summarizes these marks for reporting purposes
- Develops lesson plans and instructional material and provides individualized and small group instruction to meet the needs of each pupil
- Sets specific objectives wherever possible in lesson preparation and weekly lesson plans and carries through presentation to effectively achieve these objectives
- Consults with classroom teachers and administration regarding each pupil's education program, academic progress, and personal growth
- Meets at least three times annually with the BSIP team to review and revise progress of the students and the BSIP program plan
- Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to inform them about the school program and to discuss pupil progress
- Makes effective use of community resources to enhance the instructional program
- Participates in the development of the district's plan for Basic Skills
- Participates in school-level planning, faculty meetings/committees and other school system groups
- Maintains professional competence and continuous improvement through in-service education and other professional growth activities
- Performs other duties within the scope of his/her employment and certification as may be assigned
Qualifications: - Appropriate New Jersey Endorsement #1000/#1001 with a #1102 Endorsement REQUIRED
- MUST pass NJ Criminal History Review Unit fingerprinting requirement
- New Jersey State residency requirements for public employees in effect
