• Located in Maple Grove, MN in a brand new facility!
• Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm

Position Summary

The Floor Specialist is responsible for picking, packing and/or labeling orders within the Outbound Distribution Department and working with other team members to direct picking, packing or labeling for a specific order. The Floor Specialist is also responsible for accurate data entry on each shipment they are creating. The Floor Specialist ensures that SOPs are followed, keeps accurate documentation of data for all picks, and maintains good safety practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

Accurate picking, packing or labeling within department

• Ensure the scan guns are used as directed in SOP and following documented procedures are followed.
• Ensure correct app's are used at all times for each order being created for shipment.
• Ensure that all packing and labels are completed accurately.
• Prepare outbound shipments and work closely with the Department Lead or Supervisor regarding labels, inventory and outbound shipment issues.

Organize orders and problem solve issues

• Plan and double check quantity of orders for accuracy within our systems.
• Organize and prioritize workload in partnership with Department Lead or Supervisor to ensure timely completion of work orders and outbound shipments.
• Communicate order discrepancies to Department Lead or Supervisor.

Ensure SOPs are followed

• Follow all SPO's that you have been trained on.
• Ensure that all work orders have been fully scanned at the time of picking for accuracy.
• Make sure inventory is accurate and moved correctly throughout the facility.

Ensure accuracy of data and documentation

• Review status of orders and timeline for work orders and outbound ship dates.
• Maintain records of work orders completed, orders carton counts and work orders in progress each day.
• Understand product on pick ticket, work order tickets and plan accordingly to meet required ship dates.
• Ensure orders are pulled, picked and packed correctly and meet customer expectations (both internal and external customers).

Safety

• Report all accidents, incidents, and near misses to Supervisor.
• Ensure that all work procedures are followed and observed.
• Check for unsafe conditions during work shift, and either correct or report these issues to the Supervisor.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping as a part of normal operations.

Skills & Knowledge Required

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
• Use of considerable judgment and independent analysis to make decisions
• Effectively present information to small group situations
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Basic knowledge of computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• WMS experience is a plus
• Forklift experience is a plus
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
