Are you ready to make a difference? Come Join Our Team Our work with the Dept of Veteran Affairs delivers clinical care to Veterans by managing the logistics and flow of supplies and equipment. Supply Chain Management (SCM) ensures that the right equipment and supplies are available when needed, and the Supply Chain Management Product Line (SCM PL) encompasses the activities to procure resources, manage supplies, and deliver goods and services to providers and patients. What is the position? Cognosante is seeking a Product Owner with a lean-agile, growth mindset and diverse background in COTS, Logistics Supply, and Software Product and Service Delivery. As a Product Owner, you will be part of a motivated team, responsible for software development and system integration efforts, working on various, challenging problems for our customers and end users. You will be part of a team dedicated to the modernizing how we work within Healthcare IT. You will have the opportunity to collaborate directly with stakeholders to define and collect requirements, establish roadmaps, manage expectations and work with the Product Manager to coordinate deliveries and releases. This role is 100% remote. What will I get to do?
  • Collaborate with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements and user stories.
  • Collaborate with our clients, software development teams, and product manager to create product feature road maps based on current and future commitments.
  • Prioritize and manage the team backlog based on changing requirements and new discoveries.
  • Oversee all stages of product creation including design and development.
  • Decompose Features into well-written user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Conduct Backlog Capacity Analysis and Team Trend Analysis, alongside the Scrum Master to propose shifting of priorities for the most efficient ROI.
  • Monitor and evaluate product feature progress at each stage of the process.
  • Liaise with the Program Team and Business Owners to deliver updates.
  • Participate in SAFe ceremonies and provide servant leadership to the team along the way.
  • Participate in Team Retrospectives and the Inspect and Adapt event to foster continuous improvement.
  • Manage stakeholders and expectations.
  • What qualifications do I need?
    • Bachelor's Degree or higher level of education
    • SAFe 6 Product Owner/Product Manager (PO/PM).
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in a SAFe or Lean-Agile organization in the role of Product Owner or Product Manager with direct experience working at an organization that has fully adopted SAFe or Scrum Methodologies and the lean-agile mindset.
    • Knowledgeable in software development and other relevant web technologies.
    • Proven hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle and working knowledge of product development architecture.
    • Ability to establish and foster the visualization and flow of work.
    • Ability to collaborate with the Product Manager to define the product strategy and roadmap to maximize product value to the business while also delivering exceptional customer experience.
    • Ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms.
    • Ability to prioritize the product backlog, ensuring work items are visible, understood, and transparent to the stakeholders and teams.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong client relationship management skills in trust-building, negotiating and influencing.
    • Outstanding presentation skills.
    • Ability to drive crucial conversations with stakeholders.
    • Ability to communicate with brevity and clarity, both orally and via written communication.
    • Passionate and motivated self-starter that excels in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring no supervision.

    • Experience working in the Federal Government; Veterans Administration (VA) experience a plus.
    • Extensive leadership experience in implementing systems migration and integration to disparate Platforms, including data migration.
    • Conceptual knowledge or management experience with Service Design, such as IaaS, PaaS, and/or SaaS
    • Active Clearance or Public Trust.

    Compensation $96,760.98 - $154,817.56 The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data.
