Job Description

PT Stage Manager

Essential Job Functions
  • Production Planning & Scheduling: Organize production calendars (including production meetings, rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and performance schedules), and ensure timely communication between directors, designers, technicians, and cast to meet deadlines.
  • Technical Crew Organization: Assist Full-Time Theatre & Film faculty and staff in supervising volunteer and student technical crew members; serving as Stage Manager for one (1) production per semester.
  • Logistical Coordination: Collaborate with Full-Time Events Staff and Theatre & Film faculty to coordinate logistics for construction; load-in & load-out; light-hang & focus; and performances, ensuring the efficient and safe use of Flickinger Fine Arts Center facilities.

Required Experience & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in theatre production management or technical theatre in an academic or professional setting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software, and theatre-specific equipment and protocols.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
  • BA or BFA in Theatre, Technical Theatre, or a related field.
  • Experience working in an academic theatre setting, preferably in a community college.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard technical equipment, including lighting, sound, and stagecraft.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards related to theatrical productions.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising student workers or interns.
