Position Details:

• Shift: 1st shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
• Pay Rate: $75,000 – $85,000 per year (DOE)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Food Scientist to support research and development initiatives, conduct chemical testing, and formulate new food products. This role involves improving product quality, safety, and production processes while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and test food formulas under company guidelines.
• Conduct research to enhance food quality, safety, storage, and taste.
• Investigate and evaluate raw materials, including sourcing alternatives.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with industry and government regulations.
• Analyze and validate quality control test methods.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and interpret test results.
• Collaborate with production staff, including microbiologists and chemists.
• Prepare technical reports and advise management on scientific findings.
• Train junior staff on manufacturing techniques, safety, and analytical methods.
• Oversee up to three chemists, analysts, or technicians as needed.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related scientific field.
• Experience: 4+ years in food science, R&D, or food ingredient formulation.
• Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of analytical tools and research methodologies.
  • Ability to solve complex mathematical and scientific problems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Other: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
