Position Purpose: Serve as strategic, consultative partner to provide best-in-class employee relations expertise and services.

  1. Lead and conduct formal reviews for allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace concerns and other concerns to reach a conclusion, present findings, and propose remediation when applicable.
  2. Act as escalation point for highly complex matters to provide recommendations that mitigate risk. Partner and collaborate with PEOPLE Business Partners and business leaders to ensure optimal decisions and outcomes are made through influencing, coaching, and providing subject matter expertise that balance risk and business needs.
  3. Partner with People Business Partners, Centers of Expertise (COEs), internal/external legal counsel, and other internal investigative bodies, as necessary to reach an effective resolution to workplace concerns.
  4. Provide advice, counsel and resolution to employees and managers on complex and sensitive employee matters including policy interpretation and application, conflict resolution, performance management, progressive discipline and termination processes and practices.
  5. Prepare formal investigation reports, track all matters in a case management system, and draft proposed recommendations.
  6. Interpret and apply understanding of corporate policies and practices, employment laws and other regulations to provide advice, guidance or clarification for employee relations inquiries.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, related field or directly related equivalent work experience. 5+ years of experience in human resources or employee relations directly managing complex employee matters and investigations. Knowledge and familiarity with state and federal employment laws and regulations. Experience in working cross-functionally with employees, managers and business leaders in a matrixed organization to resolve issues and complaints. Proven ability to coach, advise and partner with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority. Proven ability, experience, and knowledge of best practices in conducting workplace investigations.

License/Certification: AWI (Association of Workplace Investigators) certification strongly preferred; PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred.
