Position: Special Education Teacher-(Contract position)

Hours: Full time, onsite

Location: near St Paul, Minnesota

Dates: ASAP- End of School year

Pay Range: Hourly compensation ranges for our Special Education Teachers from $30 to $50 an hour. Compensation will depend on state and location, years of experience, and level of education.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with significant disabilities.
• Provide direct, intensive instruction to students in a highly structured and supportive environment.
• Adapt curriculum, materials, and teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with intense academic, social, and emotional needs.
• Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and monitor student progress towards behavioral and academic goals.
• Work collaboratively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other support staff.
• Engage in frequent communication with parents/guardians to update on student progress and collaborate on strategies.
• Maintain detailed records of student performance, IEP goals, and behavioral data for compliance and reporting.
• Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and decision-making to support student progress and services.
• Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth.
• Provide individualized or small group instruction as needed to reinforce learning objectives.
  
  

Qualifications

• Required: Valid Minnesota teaching license with an endorsement in Special Education.
• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Experience working with students in the K-2 grade range with significant disabilities.
• Knowledge of IEP development, behavior management, and specialized instructional strategies for intense needs students.
• Ability to create and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
• Compassion, patience, and dedication to meeting the unique needs of students with intensive support requirements.
  
  

State Requirements

• Must hold a valid Minnesota teaching license with Special Education endorsement (Early Childhood/Elementary).
• Must meet Minnesota Department of Education requirements for background checks and fingerprinting.
