In search of a full time Sporting Goods Department Manager for Thatcher's Ace Hardware in Baker City, OR. Experience in all things related to sporting goods preferred, i. e. firearms, ammunition, archery, fishing, reloading etc. Must be able to learn various computer programs including point of sale, fish and wildlife tags, firearms background checks etc.

Duties to include:

• Manage and direct department employees so assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner.

• Maintenance of department including ordering, receiving, credits, merchandising and pricing etc.

• Establish and maintain relationships with various vendors

• Direct department employees in maintaining high standards of customer service.

• Address customer complaints

• Communicate department needs with store manager and owners

• Participate in store meetings

• Scheduling of department employees

• Training of department employees

• Problem solving

• Actively promote the store and sales

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience with firearms, ammunition, archery, fishing, reloading etc
  • Must be able to learn various computer programs including point of sale, fish and wildlife tags, firearms background checks etc
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Must have sporting goods retail experience
  • Lead others by example
