Job Title: Senior Registration Bed Control Representative

Job Purpose:
The Senior Registration Bed Control Representative is responsible for registering inpatient and outpatient surgery patients and managing Direct Admit postings from Kaiser, physician offices, and other hospital facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Register and admit patients (elective, emergency, surgical outpatients), ensuring all necessary documentation is completed, including Conditions of Admission forms, insurance cards, and claim forms.
• Assign beds for incoming patients, including elective, emergency, ICU transfers, and inter-floor moves, prioritizing patient and physician preferences where possible.
• Update bed boards and ensure charge plates are correctly noted.
• Provide residents with copies of admission documents and supply patient information to physician offices.
• Obtain releases for patients who have expired, ensuring proper documentation for funeral home pickups.
• Accept physician postings and complete OR schedules with relevant patient details.
• Prepare pre-admit forms and support the timely ordering of necessary supplies.
• Protect and disclose patient information in accordance with HIPAA standards.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of hospital admitting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to work beyond normal hours as needed.
• Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle interruptions while meeting deadlines.
