Tasks and Responsibilities:

Microwave (MW) Installation & Maintenance:

Install, configure, and maintain microwave communication systems, ensuring alignment for optimal signal strength and data transmission.

Perform microwave link tests, troubleshoot, and repair transmission issues.

 

Dark Fiber & DWDM:

Install and maintain dark fiber infrastructure, ensuring seamless high-speed transmission.

Set up and manage Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) systems for efficient optical network communication, including troubleshooting optical signal issues.

 

Switch Center Operations:

Support installation, configuration, and routine maintenance of telecom switch centers, ensuring efficient call/data routing.

Conduct periodic testing and validation of switching equipment and associated systems.

 

Data Center Installation & Maintenance:

Install, repair, and maintain telecommunication equipment and infrastructure within data centers, including cabling, routers, and server racks.

Perform routine checks and maintenance to ensure high uptime and data integrity.

 

Tower and Cell-Site Installation:

Install and maintain equipment on towers, monopoles, and rooftops, including antennas, RRUs (Remote Radio Units), and other telecom devices.

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance at cell sites, ensuring all systems are functioning optimally.

 

Equipment Repair and Replacement:

Repair or replace defective components, such as antennas, cables, RRU’s, and transmission hardware on towers, monopoles, or rooftops.

Troubleshoot and fix issues in both aerial and ground-based telecommunication infrastructure.

 

Testing:

Perform OTDR, BERT, RFC, SWEEP & BATTERY testing and other specialized testing equipment to locate and troubleshoot transmission faults in Telecom system.

 

Aerial Telecommunications Installation & Maintenance:

Install, remove, repair, and maintain aerial telecommunication equipment, including fiber, coaxial, and other types of cabling, on poles, towers, and other support structures.

Perform antenna swaps, adds, and upgrades for enhanced performance.

 

Manual Rigging and Lifting:

Perform manual rigging and lifting tasks, including the use of Capstan hoists, to install and secure equipment in elevated or challenging locations.

 

NSB & Reinforcement:

Participate in building new sites ( Roof Tops, Monopoles, Towers...)

install and maintain equipment on towers, monopoles, and rooftops, including antennas, RRUs (Remote Radio Units), and other telecom devices.

Conduct tower reinforcement tasks, including the installation, cutting, drilling, or removal of steel components for structural upgrades or modifications.

 

Climbing and Working At Height.

Climb and rappel, working safely aloft on poles, towers, rooftops, ladders, or other support structures.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations during all elevated tasks, including working in adverse weather conditions when necessary.

 

Antenna and Cable Repair.

Repair, joint, and maintain various sizes and types of antennas, RRU’s, and microwave cables, ensuring minimal signal loss and optimal performance.

 

Extensive Travel:

Travel extensively across the province or country, sometimes in remote or challenging environments, to carry out installation, repair, and maintenance tasks as required.
