Boston Conservatory at Berklee (BCB) seeks multiple Assistant Stage Managers (ASM) to support various Spring 2025 productions. The ASM, working with the Production Stage Manager, assists in organizing and disseminating production information, supervises backstage activities for the production, and ensures that all post-production needs are met. The ASM supervises the student crew. Multiple positions are available. A candidate may be hired to work on one or more productions, depending on availability and qualifications. Nights and weekends are required. Dates are subject to change.

Opera: Whaling Women/Riders of the Sea - approximately January 13 - February 16
Dance: WinterWorks - approximately March 3 - 16
Theater: Fucking A - approximately February 10 - March 29
Theater: Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 - approximately February 2 - April 13
Various end-of-year showcases: April 28 - May 9
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create appropriate paperwork for the show, including but not limited to: prop tracking, run sheets, scene
breakdown, entrance/exit plot, and who/what/where.
Assist with the scheduling, coordinating and recording information from production meetings.
Collaborate with SM to schedule and run rehearsals as assigned, and to prepare and distribute
rehearsal reports, schedules and changes.
Assist in supervising rehearsals, tech and dress rehearsals, and backstage needs as assigned by the
SM.
Assist in the creation of prompt books, run sheets and production checklists.
Train and oversee student Assistant Stage Managers and student-run crew.
Supervise backstage activities during tech and dress rehearsals, and performances
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
2-4 years of experience practical experience as an Assistant Stage Manager for Theater, Opera, and/or
Dance
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google suite
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Exceptional organizational skills
Strong leadership and collaboration skills
Exceptional facilitation and communication skills
Ability to read or follow scores strongly preferred
Ability to work independently

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Indoor environments, some with low light: office space, stages, backstage areas, dressing rooms,
storage spaces, costume shop

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, ETC:
Ability to climb short ladders
Ability to lift objects of up to 30 pounds
Nights and weekends required
