What you will be doing in this role: - Work through the design/development process, create design concepts, present concepts, and process feedback.
- Create designs that are on trend and follow market conditions.
- Provide improvements to design process.
- Generate tech packs and work directly with vendors.
- Create development reviews for vendors, this includes identifying changes, next steps, sizing, etc.
- Negotiate pricing with vendor, review/change BOM to meet pricing targets, create size charts, etc.
- Solo overseas travel to factories to work on design projects.
- Other design responsibilities as needed.
How you will thrive in this role: - Bachelor's Degree in design field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of experience within the product design/development field.
- An interest, or active participation, in the powersports industry is HIGHLY PREFERRED.
- 3D apparel software a plus.
- Broad understanding of the garment construction, material, and trims.
- Experience in Microsoft Office, with a high proficiency in Excel, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Understanding of project management strategies and practices applied to product development.
- Knowledge of manufacturing practice and methods in the garment industry, including sewing, materials, construction layout, and pattern making.
- Ability to effectively solve problems on a variety of issues with a solution-based approach.
- Highly organized, self-driven, with a keen ability to know when and how to take the initiative.
Physical Requirements:
Position performance will require the regular physical ability to walk and function in elevation changes by the means of self-propulsion, to include steps, ladders, and varied walking and working surfaces. Ability to negotiate warehouse work areas in a safe manner and behavior. Vision abilities specific to the position will include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Performing in this role will require the use of hands to use and handle tools, objects, materials, and controls. Performance requires the frequent ability to sit, talk, hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee will need to be able to read, write, and understand basics of the English language. Employee may have to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and up to 45 pounds assisted or if capable.
