• Position: Unarmed Security Guards supporting VA efforts
• Schedule: multiple shifts / varying days of the week

• Salary: Compensation on SCA covered Federal Contract consists of $17.20 Base pay +$4.57 Health and Welfare for total pay rate of $21.77; for all hours worked up to 40 hours per week. Any time worked over 40 hours in the work week is paid at 1.5X the base pay rate.

Job Summary:

• Manning static posts and performing foot patrols
• Monitoring COVID-19 screening stations
• Assisting in enforcement of COVID-19 policy-driven directives
• Conduct ID checks and complete visitors logs, if applicable
• Conducting foot patrols in parking lots and external areas to buildings and reporting any deficiencies
• Direct Traffic and Provide directions to VA employees, Veterans, contractors and visitors
• Providing witness statements on all incidents, reported or observed, when directed by VA Police
• Assisting with alarm and camera checks
• Detecting unauthorized access to VA property
• Be vigilant of vandalism to buildings and vehicles
• Immediately notify VA Police Dispatch of any person(s) suspected of committing a crime, affecting personal safety, creating a disturbance and any incident which requires the intervention of a certified law enforcement officer (VA Police)
• Educating veterans, visitors and staff of the No Smoking Policy and notifying VA Police of any violation
• Maintaining telephonic communication with VA Police Dispatch/Officers
• Replace US and POW flags, if applicable
• Support other duties as determined by the VA

Requirements:

• Current guard card or willing to obtain one
• Proficient in English (written and spoken)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• 2 years of previous security experience preferred
• Must be in good physical condition, able to complete frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping
