You can build just about anything on Bubble. For example, all new hires build Bubble apps as part of their onboarding, and a recent hire on our Customer Success team built their own version of the social media application Goodreads in 4 days. It has user authentication, an activity feed, upvotes, commenting, followers, lists, account management, live updates, a fully loaded database, API connectivity, and more.
About the People team: The People team at Bubble is a vital function at the core of our organization's growth and enablement. Our goal is to effectively attract, assess, impress, onboard, and retain top talent. We're responsible for enabling the Bubble team's people strategy and programs.
About the role: The VP, People will lead and drive the People strategy and performance for the entire organization, reporting directly into our co-CEO & co-Founder, Emmanuel. You'll inherit a team of 6 to start, balancing between high level strategy and hands on execution. You'll own a broad scope, from coaching and building programs to enabling managers to be effective leaders. You'll partner with our VP of Finance to build compensation models and headcount planning, own the HRBP and ER work, and ensure the team is engaged and productive.
In this role, you'll: - Partner with the CEOs to drive the People strategy for the organization
- Own, enhance, and lead People projects and initiatives
- Coach managers to be effective leaders, coaches, and enablers for their teams
- Drive performance management and facilitate performance conversations
- Oversee total rewards, employee relations, learning and development, and talent acquisition
- Ensure we're enabling the team to be productive while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws
About you: - 10+ years of experience in the People function, with 5+ years of experience leading and scaling a team
- Functional expertise in a broad range of people work, including talent acquisition and DEI strategy, performance management and employee relations, compensation and benefits, employee experience, and learning and development.
- Experience leading the People team at a scaling startup: 150 to 500+ employees
- Comfort toggling between strategic work and execution
- Strong grasp of performance management methodologies and tools
- Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws
- Experience operating across a challenging environment, owning change management
Compensation: We offer competitive compensation aligned to tier one markets. Our estimated salary for this role at Bubble ranges from $235,000 to $290,000. Actual pay is determined by multiple factors such as skills, qualifications, experience and market demand.
Location For this role, Bubble is currently only considering candidates who are authorized to work in the US and are within the New York City metro area. For this role, we expect this person to be in office 2/3 days a week, particularly during onboarding. We will provide relocation assistance to those who are interested in moving to the NYC area.
We prefer hiring people within commuting distance of our NYC office because we value getting together in person regularly. For those who enjoy working from our Manhattan office on a more regular basis, we offer catered lunches, and happy hours, among other fun perks.
