General Description of the Position The Department of Psychology at Delaware State University has a 9-month tenure-track faculty position in psychology at the rank of assistant professor. This is a fully grant-funded position for research and teaching. We are interested in candidates with a strong research background in the areas of neuropsychology, cognitive psychology or clinical psychology. Priority will be given to candidates who can provide evidence of productivity on high-quality research in cognitive aging and who have excellent potential for and/or experience pursuing or obtaining external funding. This faculty-researcher position will report to the Department of Psychology Chair and will work under the RCMI-Funded Interdisciplinary Health Equity Research Center and National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) funded Delaware Accelerating Clinical and Translational Research (DE-CTR ACCEL) leadership.
Essential Functions & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Essential Functions The following are the functions essential to performing the job of an Assistant Professor:
1. To maintain a part-time teaching load in the department of psychology, unless granted release time.
2. To meet each class as scheduled.
3. To work collaboratively within the Interdisciplinary Health Equity Research Center and DE-CTR ACCEL leadership/ researchers.
4. Participate in University/College/Department/ Professional committees and community at large activities.
5. Actively pursue external funding through research and grant writing.
6. To demonstrate and maintain professional competence and knowledge of subject matter and strive to keep informed of contemporary developments in the field of specialization through reading and research, or other means of expression appropriate to the discipline.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The individual in this job must possess these skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation using some other combination of skills and abilities:
1. Must have grant writing experience and potential to develop a nationally recognized and externally funded research program in the area of behavior and integrative neuroscience or neuropsychology.
2. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in an oral and written manner.
3. Must have knowledge of cutting-edge methodologies for conducting research.

2. Post-doctoral research experience/ evidence of research productivity.
