Job Description

Our heavy transport client is looking for a Freight Forwarding Agent to support their international operations in Houston, TX. The primary purpose of the Freight Forwarding Agent is to facilitate the transport of heavy and oversized cargo internationally through import and export.

Responsibilities:

Manage the end-to-end process, from pre alert to dispatch, including coordinating with suppliers and customs brokers for RORO / BBK / Part Charter / Full Charter transport

Build and maintain strong relationships with ocean carriers, terminals, and other service providers

Review project options, considering different factors including time, costs, safety requirements, schedule; etc. to optimize logistics planning

Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, other government requirements and filings, and company standards

Monitor and manage shipments until completion and timely communication to all internal customers regarding the transaction details

Qualifications:

2+ years relevant experience with Freight Forwarding, US Customs regulations and general logistics imp/exp.

Experience with heavy and oversized cargo is preferred, but not required

Computer literacy and knowledge is a must

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
