POSITION SUMMARY
Radiology Partners in El Paso is seeking a Radiology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner who will assist our radiologists in the management of patients for both the hospital and practice. Position may travel between multiple facilities. Responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for quality assessment and improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with Radiology Partners goals.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, venous access and lumbar punctures. Prior experience in performing these procedures is a plus but not required.
Assist in direct patient care services, including inpatient and outpatient consults, and follow up.
Assist in outpatient Interventional Radiology clinic and all duties necessary to support the clinic.
Perform physical examinations, determine medical histories, diagnose and treat illnesses and/or injuries
Assist in facilitating patients for procedures including pre-authorizations, working with facilities to coordinate procedures as needed, processing orders, sending reports back to referring doctors
Perform or assist in fluoroscopic studies.
Develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes
Perform history and physical examinations and consents of radiology patients
Verbal and written communications with referring physicians, nurses, other health care professionals regarding patients to assist and facilitate the medical management of the patients
Educate patients regarding their procedures and care
Other duties as assigned
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Licensed as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of Texas
Graduate of accredited program
At least one year Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner experience a plus but not required
National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
Certified to perform Basic Life Support
