About the Job: The Associate Furniture Repair Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and condition of furniture products by repairing items from incoming shipments and product returns. This position is instrumental in maintaining the integrity of merchandise to meet or exceed initial new standards, thereby supporting sales and customer satisfaction efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Execute repairs and refurbishments on returned goods to restore them to their original "new" condition or as required for inventory standards.
  • Assess damages on various material types’ example wood, bamboo, rattan, leather, fabric, stone, metal, concrete, resin, and upholstery, determining the most suitable repair methods.
  • Utilize a range of techniques such as fillers, burn-ins, color matching, structural repairs, and installation of replacement parts to achieve high-quality repairs.
  • Maintain daily work goals and records to track productivity and ensure timely completion of repairs.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to handle varying repair challenges and changing job requirements effectively.
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and orderly to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others.

Skills and Qualifications Preferred:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of proven experience in furniture repair or related field preferred.
  • Experience using both hand and electrical tools for furniture assembly and repair.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull equipment and merchandise weighing 50 pounds and more.
  • Proficiency in woodworking, upholstery and leather repair, faux finishing, paint color matching, custom framing, and various coatings and finishes on different surfaces.
  • Ability to repair a variety of materials including wood, leather, fabric, metal, etc.
  • Exceptional skill in color matching to ensure seamless repairs and refurbishments.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; as well as reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
  • Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions.
  • Required to use stairwells to attend meetings and engage with employees on multiple floors throughout building.

Compensation
